Patio Heater under a wood deck!!?
I have a patio heater that uses propane. I have a two tier cedar deck and would like to place the patio heater under the deck for when we have guests who smoke over. The problem is – the patio heater is only about 1 foot away from the top of the deck. Will this set my deck on fire or make a dark mark on the wood from the heat? If so, what can I put between the wood and the heater and how should I hold it up? A finishing nail will hold heat and burn the wood. Thanks for ANY suggestions!

Yes, it will burn your deck, so bad idea. Anything you put up over it will burn or fall. Can you put the heater on the top deck, with one of those Grill Mats under it? We have our grill on a wood deck, right behind our brick chimney, and we have a grill mat under it. (Lowe’s )
Alternately, can you put the heater a little farther into the yard, away from combustible material?
