i have a briggs and Stratton Engine 5 hp mounted on a billygoat leaf collector starting problems?
the engine starts fine and first time without the Air Filter in place
there is plenty of spark and compression but if you try to start it with the filter on and mounted complete with bolt it is a none starter even warm it also starts easily with the filter sat on the carburettor but the Minuit you tighten the bolt down its also doesnt start any ideas hope this make sense

If you want an energy efficient product, this is a practical solution. Unlike other insulators, when the compound is applied, it expands to fill joints, joists and crevices. It also adheres to itself so there are no air pockets within the material. This means that it is air tight. I have a lawnmower with Briggs & Stratton 375 Sprint engine that is very difficult to start. Any help please.?
I have changed Spark Plug, air filter and cleaned out old petrol and replaced with new. Still won’t start. Has always been difficult to start.
There will be a magnet on the flywheel that passes the magneto (the spark plug wire leads from the magneto). If a mower is left out in the elements, the facing surfaces of the magneto and flywheel can rust, which prevents the magneto from generating the required spark. You can clean off the rust with emery paper or (my preference) a fine drywall sanding sheet. A LIGHT coat of oil on the sanded surfaces will help prevent more rust.
There are a number of possible causes; this is only one.
