Can I get rid of the mold starting to grow on my patio wicker table?I thought this stuff was made for outdoors
I have a wicker couch and Coffee Table on my covered patio that I bought used 2 months ago and it is already showing signs of mold in between the wicker! Is my set destined to be ruined or is there something I can do to get the mold off and /or something I can treat the wicker with to prevent more mold from spreading?

Bleach will kill the mold for a time but will not keep it from coming back.
Go to Lowes or HomeDepot and look in the paint section. They will have a siding wash that is usually used to clean the outside of your house. It has an inhibitor in it that will keep the mold away for two or maybe three years. I use this all the time on our porch, rockers and swing.
Just follow the directions.

I have cast iron, aluminum and resin wicker on my patio. The cast iron is heavy, needs to be re-painted and rust proofed every couple of years, but it is a lifetime purchase. I can and have changed the look many times over the last 8 years. The resin wicker is very inexpensive, easy to clean, lightweight and easy to move. You can also change the look with different cushions and it can be painted with the new Kyron Plastic Paint available at Lowes. My least favorite is my aluminum furniture. Contrary to popular opinion, it does rust especially at the joints. I have painted it several times and nothing seems to stick well to it for a long time before it starts peeling and flaking. It is, however, the least expensive option. Don’t plan on it lasting a lifetime.
